I'm also looking into founding a Spanish National Honor Society this year.

Just some general info: I'm from Mississippi, white, and female.

My essay will in all likelihood deal with my experiences last year going through my parents' divorce, my mom's diagnosis of lung cancer, and the death of my grandfather (all taking place over a span of less than three months) and how it made me a stronger person and helped me grow as a person.

I'm planning on majoring in Biological Sciences and doing pre-med.

I’d say you stand a fair chance. Another factor to consider is whether or not you will be applying ED or RD. ED can definitely give you an edge-up.

Just make sure you demonstrate interest in Rice (take a tour, make contact).
Stats are strong.
