Hey, currently a rising senior. I go to one of the top public schools in the country (illinois). I want to major in history and either do international relations or law (international or environmental law).

Please chance me for:
WashU
HYP
Tufts
Georgetown (SFS)
McGill
Oxford/Cambridge
Duke
Brown
Amherst
Colombia

I think it will be a reach for HYP and Columbia. I am not sure about Oxbridge. You have a good shot at the rest and you’ll prob get into McGill and Tufts.

Thanks Please Chance Back

Based on your stats…
WashU: high match / low reach
HYP: high reach (for anybody)
Tufts: high match
Georgetown: high match
McGill: mid match
Oxford/Cambridge: HIGH reach (extremely difficult for U.S. applicants)
Duke: low reach
Brown: mid reach
Amherst: high reach
Colombia: mid reach

Wow, what a great profile! You basically have a chance anywhere
That being said, you seem like a smart, dedicated person who will flourish at any college, so don’t worry too much about getting into to Ivies.

Good luck!

ahah thanks :)

what do you think for University of Virginia and Wesleyan?

Awesome GPA, although for some of your top choices, more AP courses would be preferable. Ec are average for applicants to these top schools, and u do possess the leadership (captain of JV soccer) qualities that admissions committees look for in students. ACT is only a concern for Columbia, and maybe Brown, in my opinion.

WashU low reach ( i am sure u will get in)
HYP ???
Tufts match/low reach " " " " “”
Georgetown (SFS) match/low reach " " " " “” "
McGill match
Oxford/Cambridge ??? (not sure about stats)
Duke low reach/match
Brown low reach
Amherst match
Colombia reach (if u apply Ed i think u have a solid chance–low reach)

chance back!

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1527194-brandeis-chance-will-apply-ed-chance-back.html

all of my classes have been honors since freshmen year as well if thats worth mentioning. no regular track courses (and i have taken the hardest math program possible)

and despite the fact that i dont show too much leadership in my extracurriculars, i think its a big part of my personality and i think i can show that through essays/teacher recs.

Your stats are similar to mine! I also have a 33 act (35 math). I want to be an engineer!!! UVA or go home! My activities and extra circulars are killer but ap scores are not good… Good thing those are optional admissions factors

You’ve done well!
I think you have a great chance for some of these schools! However, some are reaches.

WashU- match
HYP- reach
Tufts- low reach
Georgetown (SFS)- match
McGill- Never heard of it
Oxford/Cambridge- rech
Duke - match
Brown - reach
Amherst- reach
Colombia- low reach

Oh! and UVA: match/reach
For UVA: it honestly depends upon how many out of states they’re accepting and if you are just as good (if not better) than the other applicants.

Good shot at everywhere except HYP :)

ooooo just a side note when applying internationally to britain, when you go through UCAS system (which is similar to that of the common app), you can ONLY apply to EITHER cambridge univeristy or oxford.

You need some quality safety schools. There is a reasonable chance that you could get rejected from just about all of those.
