<p>I know Brown’s a reach but my question is it even worth applying to as a reach school? Do I have a chance at all? </p>

I also retook AP Human Geography. When I took it in ninth grade, I got a 3 but I took it in 10th grade and got a 4.</p>

Come from a really competitive public school. It’s nationally ranked and is similar to LaGuardia in New York City. </p>

*Assistant Editor for Newsmagazine
*President of Debate Team (also have done well at national competitions)
*Raising Money to Buy Coats for Children Club (Historian)
*Student Government (Treasurer)
*Religious Education Kindergarten Teacher for 3 years
*Therapy Dog Handler. Visit the library and lets little kids read to my dog :slight_smile:

<p>Now my main problem is my freshmen year grades. I really messed up and am worried they will ruin my application. </p>

<p>AP Human Geography: B/A (3 on exam but I retook to get a 4)

<p>You should make one post and place it in the what are my chances forum. Dont post individually for all the colleges ur applying to. I saw ur duke post as well. Its right above this one.</p>

<p>You look like an average Ivy League applicant, which is fine. I would say your in the ball park. I would apply to a few safeties and bunch of reaches. Also coming from a competitive public school is not a hook. A hook is more like you came from poverty, your a minority, you have a few disabilities or your academic opportunities have been limited due to problems with the school. I say you have a fine chance as much as any other 4.0 kid but I wouldn’t get to attached to Brown I would apply out to a bunch of schools. Anyways thats my input no matter what stats you have always have a few safety schools. I have no doubt that you will get into an Ivy League or an elite school. Best of luck.</p>
