Chance Me

Hey everyone,
I'm waiting for admission releases like everyone else. I'm an in state student who is not auto into UT Austin.
I'm in the top 11% batch of 1300 + students
SAT - 2190 -> 750M 730W 710CR
I have done a bunch of EC's
Debate for all 4 years - State finalist for 2 years, state qualifier all 4 years
Tennis All 4 years - Varsity from sophomore year
Youth and Government 4 years
NHS and other volunteering put together 250 + hours of volunteering
and more

I applied on Oct. 15 for the BHP (Business honors) program and the EHP (Engineering) and I haven't gotten any response. I know BHP is a stretch for being non-auto but what are my chances of getting general admission into the school and getting into the EHP program.

Also I've taken I think 7 ap exams (bc calc, world history, euro, us history, English human geo compsci . 5 on all of them cept 4 on compsci and I'm taking 7 ap's this yr( physics c stat macro micro music theory Spanish English)

Moreover, a friend of mine who was in the top 15 % of my class batch with a 2220 on his SAT got in to mccombs (not bhp) on the 14. his ec's and leadership is similar to mine. I don't know what made this applicant get a response earlier than me. The only difference is that he turned in his app on oct 12 while i did it on the 15.

Please let me know what you guys think....

Thanks

Come on guys … Somebody, anybody chance me? I can see that there are over 60 + views of this thread but no one has posted something?

Please…

You should be in pretty good shape actually (from a scale from 1-10, I’d say 7, just to be on the safe side). Probably what happened is that a bunch of people had applied within those three days, delaying your decision. Don’t forget they have to consider not only your acceptance but your majors too.

The main problem with doing stuff like this is that we don’t know who has applied or what are the standards for the school (for any school for that matter). While I say you have a pretty good chance, it’s just my opinion. I wish I could be of more help.

thank you darksaber21. I appreciate your insight. Honestly, this waiting period is the hardest thing for me to go through. Everyone says that I have a pretty good chance of getting in … including students at UT right now… but I don’t know what to say until I get a response back from them…

if it helps i’m applying to Mccombs as my first choice and then Cockrell as my second choice for chemical engineering
