Your test scores are low. The SAT puts you below the average for enrolled students. To put this in context the average for accepted students is probably higher, and the standards for out-of-state applicants is also higher.

Youre out of state and hispanic and have a lot of good curriculars. Your math sat is the bottom most average. I would ask if you could take it one more time if you could TRUST ME. They care the MOST about the SAT dont listen to what ANYONE ELSE says there are 30k applicants they cant look at every single aspect of every one I WOULD KNOW.

mqcollege,

Currently the SAT and ACT are of equal value. One test is based off of your IQ the other what you actually have learned.

Call the admissions office or your area rep. and ask them about each test. They will give you the facts.

If you have the chance take the ACT and if you do better send your scores. UCONN will take the ACT over the SAT if they are better.

Opinions on the board is only that…

My DS took both the ACT and SAT and is now getting into honors colleges based off his ACT scores as well as his HS stats. His ACT score is equal to a 2100 on the SAT. He did okay on the SAT (1840) but that is not going to get him offers to honors from any college he has applied to. To add his ACT is also getting him into his program of study, the SAT score would not open that door.

With regard to your HS stats, your in a very nice place but humor yourself and take the ACT.

Right now with your current HS stats and SAT they MIGHT" offer you ACES or a regional campus. UCONN is not a safety school anymore, three or four years ago you would have been in better shape but it is getting tough to get in. There are indeed 30k applicants thousands of these kids have some impressive stats, they look!

i was accepted!

good for you mqcollege.
