1850 SAT ( 570R 610M 670W) 3.56 GPA in a top ranked public school in NJ, Parents got divorced my Soph year took a bit of a hurting on my GPA...

EC's: ALJBS ( American legion jersey boys state= leadership week that teachers at my school nominated me for), International Board of my Jewish youth organization, Treasurer for school Student Council, 3 year Varsity Baseball Player, Chem club, Treasurer of Jewish
Culture club, Summer Camp Counselor for special education kids, Community service: taught special education elementary school children how to play soccer,

important Classes:
Freshman: Honors Geometry, World History, Bio, Spanish 2, English 1 Honors
Soph: Algebra 2 Honors, Chem, Honors US 1, Spanish 3, English 2 Honors
Junior: Math Analysis ( Trig/precalc Honors), AP Chemistry, US 2, Spanish 4, British Literature Honors
Senior: AP Literature, AP Calc AB, Physics, MCP Humanities( college level class like art history)

(Applied RD, debating changing to EDII but idk if its worth it because I do believe it's a reach)

You don’t tell us what you intend to major in, but as you know your CR+M score is at the very bottom of the middle 50%. Only 3 AP courses by graduation. Math courses aren’t the toughest. A killer essay could go a long way here, but you don’t mention one. ECs, meh.

I’m sorry but I’m not liking you for Lafayette. Maybe a 20% chance RD, but as you know from your baseball experience it ain’t over til it’s over.

Chance me too please

I would like to know more about how you did with As and Bs in years prior to this one, but everything else looks good. I’d think you have a very good chance of admission.

Can you afford Lafayette, OP?

shahikeshar and jerseykid96,

Thank you both for your interest in Lafayette. To help evaluate your chances of acceptance, please see the academic profile for the Class of 2017 here–> [Entering Class Profile · About · Lafayette College](http://www.lafayette.edu/about/lafayette-at-a-glance/entering-class-profile/)

Know that this profile only provides the “ball park range” and that there are no strict cutoffs for any academic statistic. This is because the application process is holistic and includes many factors other than GPA and standardized test scores such as course rigor (based on the context of your high school), extracurricular involvement, and other contributions to the community.

Academically speaking, this profile will give you decent feedback, but unfortunately I cannot provide you any further or more specific feedback, as I am not an admissions director.

Hopefully that helps. I’m sorry I cannot give you a more direct answer. If you have any other questions about Lafayette itself or the application process, you are always welcome to ask.

Thank you,
