<p>I applied RD and hope to study journalism at Medill.</p>

-SAT II Literature: 740 and SAT II US History: 760</p>

<p>-7 APs (World History - 5 on exam, Human Geography - 5 on exam, US History - 5 on exam; taking AP Economics, AP Literature, AP US/Comparative Govt., and AP Calc AB this year) and 7 honors courses</p>

<p>Extracurriculars/honors:
-Newspaper (Editor-in-Chief, Assistant Editor-in-Chief, and Copy Editor)
-Founder/president of my school's National English Honor Society
-National Honor Society
-Latin Honor Society
-Quill & Scroll Honor Society
-Key Club/Interact Club
-Involved with several community-based volunteer groups (activities include Vacation Bible School, audio-visual team at my church, and after-school tutoring at an elementary school)
-Took jazz and tap classes for 7 years
-Chosen as the Virginia representative for a prestigious nation-wide journalism conference
-National Merit Scholarship Commended Student
-Silver Key and Honorable Mention in the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards</p>

<p>You have a good a shot as anyone who is actually qualified to be a student at Northwestern (which you most certainly are). SATs are in the average range, but nothing to discount you. With the way that admissions numbers are these days, its not so much about your accomplishments when it comes to being accepted, but more about luck. </p>
