I'm going to start writing my essays this summer (really anxious-not sure what to write about!)
I hope to be one of the captains of Cross Country or Circle of Friends president because I now that I lack an official leadership position on my app right now.

Thank you for any insight! I know how competitive Wash U is, and I hope I have even a small chance of admission.

I think you have a great shot! Only retake the ACT if you feel like you can do better/perform more strongly. Your subject tests are strong and a 33 is about average for WashU.

I will respectfully offer the opposite advice on retaking the ACT. Retake at every opportunity! Why not? Especially considering that Wash U superscores. You can up your effective composite score just by improving in one weak area only.

In retrospect, foursite is right. You have nothing to lose!

I think you have a great chance if you get that ACT to a 34. And apply ED to maximise chances if WashU is your top choice!

Thank you for your insight, guys. I think I’ll take the ACT one more time in September, in hopes of getting a 34 superscore.
