I am a high school senior and am interested in Journalism. George Washington is currently my favorite school and I was wondering if anyone could help give me an idea of whether or not I can get in.
I am ranked 18 in a class of 192 (top ten percent)
I just retook my SATs and felt good about it, but so far my scores from last time are: Math: 600, Reading: 660, Writing: 680
My recommendations and essay are great, but my out-of-school activities are lacking. I have been in the German Honor Society for three years, and as the vice president during senior year. I have also just joined my school's Key Club and plan on continuing it throughout the year.
I also will have six AP classes on my transcript after this year (all either have or will result in A's) and scored well on my AP exams.
So, what do you think?

SAT is lacking a bit. Class rank is solid. Take this however you want but last year GWs admission rate jumped to 43 percent

If it’s truly your dream school show interest. Send in the app before the deadline, visit campus a few times, grab an interview, ect

I might add if it’s truly your dream school, apply ED.

I think you have a good chance, depending on how much interest you indicate in attending. Your SAT scores, as mentioned above, are a little on the low-side but this can be made up for with the overall application.

Thank you! I did do better on my October SATs, with a 660 on Math, 680 on Reading, and 770 on Writing
