<p>I want to know if I even have a decent chance of getting in, or if I'm just aiming way too high.</p>

<p>columbia engineering is very selective, and i think many selective colleges would take black/hispanic students of equal stats or even slightly less than yrs over Asians, no offense though it’s just statistics. Maybe try mit or caltech instead</p>

<p>Sherlock, when are you planning to apply ED to Columbia SEAS? Next year? Based on your posting history, it looks like you took the PSAT in October, so I’m assuming the scores posted in your first post are projected scores? Assuming you get those scores, I don’t think it would be a waste of time to apply to Columbia, or to MIT or Caltech (which I agree are equally selective), but obviously you should have some less selective schools lined up as well.</p>
