<p>CA resident (I moved to CA 5 years ago… from Korea)
UC GPA: 4.11
SAT : 2020
Intended major : Music
Volunteer : 300 hrs ( all related to music)
good personal statements ( i hope)
race: asian
awards: all music stuff</p>

<p>so my concern is that music is not really academical… (everyone around me encourage me to go to Cal State cuz what I do is more practical … I do music composition with technology stuff ) but I really want to get the general education at a UC then transfer to a music school. Do I have a chance? Do UCs care about music majors?</p>

<p>You’ve got a very good shot at most of the UCs - LA and UCB, I’ll give you 40% chance at both. All the CSUs would be happy to have you. I know most of the UCs have viable music programs - apply broadly to UCs and CSUs, see who accepts you then choose.
