I want to know what colleges I would have a decent chance of getting into and getting a scholarship to. I live in Colorado, and have only really looked at UT Austin and CU Boulder.
I am 17 years old, a current junior. I have been in all honors through sophmore year, including one AP class sophomore year(AP US history in which I scored a 5 on the exam.) I am currently in five AP classes(Government, Language, Spanish, Calc AB, and Physics A), with a cumulative unweighted gpa of around 3.75. I got a 218 on the psat, which should get me at least semi finalist in Colorado. I will cumulate about 100 volunteer hours by the end of this year. I have worked a part time job since I turned 16. Finally, I have been a part of an honors society, and I have a huge passion for skiing among other things.
My main worry is gpa. Despite a decent unweighted I have a significantly downward gpa trend, partially due to ADD/ADHD that I only recently was diagnosed with. My gpa was a 3.93 and has gone down fairly consistently to a 3.39 currently. I was wondering how much of an impact this will have.
I was hoping I could be given my chances for a decently wide range of schools from highly selective to not selective but with scholarships as I have not looked into a lot of colleges.
The GPA trend is not good, colleges need to see progress or consistent success. Your other academic achievementss are good, you’ve got some APs. I would need more info but for right now, Austin is a safe match and Boulder is probably good as well. Good luck!
Chance me please! I’ll chance back!
