Hi everyone! I’m a rising senior in the class of 2016 and I’m from a noncompetitive public school in the Midwest! Thank you in advance to those who read & respond to this!!
COLLEGE LIST:
Brown
Cornell
Dartmouth
Northwestern
Princeton
Stanford
UC Berkeley
UCLA - my dad and grandma went here if that matters?
WUSTL
*I might take some of these off, and these don’t include my safeties
STATS:
UW GPA: 4.0
ACT: 34 (36E, 31M, 36R, 31S) *will these subscores hurt me?
Writing/English subscore: 35 (11 on essay)
SAT: didn’t take it
SAT II: will take two this fall
APs: AP World (4) & I’m waiting for scores from APUSH, AP Lang, and AP Bio
Senior Year Course Load: AP Lit, AP Psych, AP Gov/Politics, AP Calc AB, Physics honors
ECs: NHS (Service Chair), HOSA (Historian), fundraising club for cancer patients (Secretary), group that evaluates grant applications for local nonprofits, show choir, concert choir, band, orchestra, DECA, Student Ambassadors
Volunteering: 30 hours as a TA for a summer learning program for kids, 18 hours as a freshman mentor, 5 hours at Center for People in Need
Awards: nothing major - Scholar Athlete, Scholar Performer, and (most likely) AP Scholar. Although I did get in the top 10 at HOSA Nationals (below 3rd place, but not sure which place yet) is that worth mentioning? I also have a few 1st/2nd place state titles in DECA & HOSA.
Summer: I’m doing a Nanoscience internship at my local state school.
PS: I’m white mixed with something else, but I’m just putting white on my application. Also, I’ll probably send in an art supplement of me playing piano bc I’ve played for 10 years.
One more thing, say by some miracle that I get into one of these top schools. How hard would it be to be a pre-med and pull off a ~3.8 GPA?
Thanks again!
