Conservatively assuming you score a 30 on the ACT, I would say you have a good shot at NYU and Oberlin while Vanderbilt is more of a reach. Vandy is a very tough school to get into as you know, but I do encourage you to apply because it’s a great school and I honestly think you have a good shot because of your musical talents. For that school as well as the others, try to get a leadership position in 1 or 2 of your ECs… If you win student council preident your chances will be helped dramatically because it shows schools that you are not only smart but also well-respected and well-liked by your peers.
