Schools I’m thinking about applying to, mostly reach schools (I know my safeties): Bentley, BC, Cornell, Dartmouth, Northeastern, Wesleyan.
My test scores aren’t so great but I’ve been studying the whole summer and hope to raise them this early fall.
SAT w/ writing: 1800 (hoping to raise to at least 1900)
ACT: 26 (hoping to raise to at least 29)
SAT II Math I: 630
SAT II English: 630
SAT II Biology: 600
Rank: Top 20%, very competitive public school
GPA unweighted: 3.8 (school doesn’t weight).
GPA was in the 3.98-3.92 range until junior year when I took AP classes.
Junior curriculum: AP english, AP bio, honors pre-cal, honors history, honors adv art, ceramics 2, student activities (helping out with school events).
Senior curriculum: AP english, AP art, AP psych, honors calc, honors ceramics, physics, student activities
High honors all freshman year, high honors all sophomore year except one term. honors all jr year
EC: been VP of my class since freshman year. Vice president of national art honor society. member of national honor society (40 hrs), national art honor society (30 hrs), national math honor society (20 hrs), and national science honor society (20 hrs). clay club freshman-senior year. part of a volunteer group that focuses on stopping drunk drivers, also do peer mentoring for the group.
Sports: varsity tennis fresh-jr. tennis captain as a junior. awarded league all star and league sportsmanship award.
soccer freshman/sophomore then had to quit because of injury.
Awards: first place at science fair sophomore year, second place at science fair junior year. too many art awards to list (15+) but been featured in a magazine, literary magazines for school each year, been in shows all around Massachusetts, scholastic silver key/honorable mentions, congressional art competitions, etc. made the logo for our town selectman. went to Mass Art All State (selected then interviewed then chosen). Book award from clarkson university for academic excellence and leadership. Trustees book award for Art (one student selected).
