What are my chances at
MIT
Michigan, me grandmother went there
Case Western
Carnegie Mellon
Penn
Northwestern
RPI, my dad went there
Tufts
Northeastern
-You’re going to have a harder time getting into MIT, UPenn, CMU, Northwestern, Michigan, and Tufts based on your SAT, but you have a good shot at Northeastern.
-Your EC’s are good, but they don’t really stand out. You’re going to be competing with a lot of students who will have the same EC’s as you. Try to get more involved this year if you can
-Have some safety schools that have your major just in case you don’t get into any of these schools
Where is your home state? Being a girl helps to get into some engineering schools. Your CR is a bit weak for top schools. Your SAT is just around or below admission average for UMich while your GPA is around admission average. If you are from OOS, UMich would be a reach for you due to the low admission rate. If you are from in state, it would be a very high match to low reach.
MIT, UPenn, CMU, and NU are all reach due to low admission rate and stat among applicant average.
