Hi all, high school senior, class of 2016, white, middle class family, CA resident, thinking of majoring in statistics, need help with some safety schools
GPA: 3.9 unweighted, 4.3 unweighted
ACT: Composite:33, math:31, english:35, science:34, reading:30, 10 on the essay
SAT(just retook last weekend): Composite:1890, math:630, reading:680, writing:580
ECs: Not too good but:
3 years of varsity baseball
2 years of varsity basketball
3 years of varsity football
Varsity basketball captain
All league honors for basketball
2 time section champion for football
2 time league champion for football
League champion for basketball
Made it to the state quarterfinals for basketball
Sadly I never got involved in any clubs due to my heavy involvement in athletics
Academic awards: my school doesn’t really do these but I’m in the top 15 students in my class and I am part of the UC ELC program
Schools: I’m having trouble finding some safety schools to apply to
Cal
Ucla
Ucsb
UC Davis
University of Washington
San Diego state
Cal poly slo
Long Beach state
Ucsc
Any help is greatly appreciated!
How about Occidental? It’s also in California and seems in your range as a safety. I know it isn’t a state school, but it definitely fits your range for a safety. I don’t, however, think they have a statistics major?
CSULB and SDSU would be your safety schools.
I have never considered Occidental but definitely will now. Thanks!
