Chance me

I went to the University of Arizona last year for my freshman year. I took 23 credits, 13 the first semester to get used to the school, then unfortunately 10 the next semester because I was a pledge. I ended the first semester with a 3.5, and the second semester with a 3.23. So my GPA my freshman year was a 3.348. I transferred and am now going to a community college. I am taking 15 credits this semester. I am going to end up with a 4.0 this semester. I am going to be at 38 credits after this semester, which is 7 short of being on target to graduate on time. I think I am going to take four classes during winter break. I hopefully will get an A in every class. So that would be 50 Credits and 8 classes straight with an A. But anyway I am out of state and I got a 23 on the ACT in high school which I only took once and had something like an 82 overall in high school.

Please let me know what you think, I really appreciate the help. Also if you could list other good academic schools you believe I could get into that would be really appreciated. I’m working my tail off to get a 4.0 this semester.

Thanks

Where are you trying to transfer?

UCLA/UNC/UVA/Berkeley/USC/Miami

California UC’s only accept Junior level transfers 60 semester/90 quarter units.
HS GPA and test scores are not considered, only your college record.
Can you afford these schools? $55K per year with no FA.

Im fortunate enough that I can afford it. Not with ease, but to get an education from Berkeley or UCLA I think it’s worth it. That’s the best news I have heard all week that they don’t look at my high school record! You’re the best!

Many of these schools only take junior transfers, but I’m sure you’ll get into at least one.

Don’t forget that the GPA is cumulative, so you would have to compete with others who have higher GPA’s. The STEM majors at the UC’s are impacted, so your college GPA and EC’s need to be great.

Don’t count your chickens yet. At $55K per year, for the UC’s you pay up front by quarter-that’s a lot of money. (UCB is on a semester system) Also, there is an order to admission. California Community college students get priority; then in-state colleges, then OOS students.

I payed upfront at Arizona after being denied a loan. It’s not financially easy, but my dad has the money to pay. I will pay him back one day

I’m a sophomore right now, and I will end this year with 60 credits.
