33 ACT is very good. By itself, that ACT score puts you at the 75% level of accepted students. When you couple that though with your lowish GPA, you fall down to closer to the 50% level and perhaps a tiny bit below, but not below 40%. It is good that you have at three AP classes, but you are correct in thinking that many applicants to Vassar have more than that. I say you have about a 50-50 shot. Good luck!

^^
Where are you getting the accepted student statistics? The mid 50% ACT Composite is 30-33 for * enrolled* students. The mid 50% ACT scores for admitted students are arguably higher than those who accepted admission.

“The mid 50% ACT scores for admitted students are arguably higher than those who accepted admission.”

For this figure (30-34) and others for accepted students, try: “Vassar College About the Class of 2019.”

Yeah, I meant to type “enrolled”.

Did you apply ED 1?

@lolaandgee no, regular

Thank God. Thought I had more competition for ED :stuck_out_tongue:

@lolaandgee good luck!! do you mind chancing me?

Well, my relief obviously indicates you have a good shot :stuck_out_tongue: Your GPA is a bit on the lower side, but your ACT is good and your workload isnt half bad. If you can make up for the low-ish gpa with your essays etc, i think you have a decent shot. Mind you, it will still be tough, as it always is, especially with that gpa and in a pretty selective school like vassar. But I think you CAN do it. Vassar IS achievable.

but keep in mind, vassar is relatively much harder to get in for women.

@lolaandgee thanks so much! I hope everything works out for you :slight_smile:
