Chance me?

I applied EA to LSA as an undecided major.

ACT: 32; 33 superscored
GPA: 3.9 UW, 4.3 W
Class Rank: 9/301
School: highly competitive gifted program at a public school
Classes: taken 9 APs so far (English Lang & Lit, Bio, Human Geo, APES, APUSH, Comparative Pol, US Gov, Physics 1) and I am currently taking 6 APs this year (Chem, Psych, Stats, Macro Econ, Micro Econ, French) as well, all of my classes are gifted/advanced level classes including APs.

EC’s: Key Club (4 years), NHS (2 years), Tennis (4 years - 2 years varsity), French NHS (2 years), volunteer at local science museum (4 years), worked at a dermatology office over the summer, AP scholar with distinction, IL state scholar

Essays:
Common App: 10/10, I absolutely loved my essay and had it reviewed by my college advisor and my mom
Why UM?: 8/10, wrote about my visit to campus and how LSA would fit my needs as a student.

Rec letters:
Teacher: I had one from my APUSH teacher who absolutely loved me (and he knows how hard I worked in his class), and another from my Physics teacher who is known for writing amazing rec letters and knows me pretty well as a person.
Counselor: I don’t know him super well, but he’s great and he seems to like me a lot so I assume it was pretty good.

Possible hook: I would be the first person in my family to attend a four year university (my dad has a degree from a community college I don’t know if this would effect my chance of having a hook?)

I think you’ll get in (I’m assuming you’re in-state?). Your stats/application matches what a typical accepted UMich student would have, so barring a bad essay/LOR, I don’t see any reason why you wouldn’t get in.

@hailbate thank you! I’m out of state actually sorry I should’ve stated that!

It would be a low reach for you from OOS. UMich does not superscore and ACT 32 was the admission average this year. The OOS admission rate was 20% and your chance should be slightly above that.

You’ll definitely get in. The fact that you are from out of state only helps your cause too.

@rushACL Don’t bull shit people

You have a solid chance, but it is still a slight reach.
