@Aash11, I wouldn’t want to be mean, but the only thing that helps a bit is legacy and some of the EC’s. Your GPA and SAT scores are way below Northeastern’s average. Your essay may be pretty good, but seeing your STATS on paper, I’d say it comes down to a coin toss. All the best anyway.

@Garyguy909 yeah i know what you mean. well my sat score went up by 250 points! and I have a 4.0 gpa senior year for my mid year grades, hopefully this will be taken into consideration

Thats amazing! Is your 4.0 GPA unweighted or weighted?

Oh, also, congratulations on the SAT but I hate to break it off, ahah. Northeastern doesn’t consider SAT scores for international applicants, its just their GPA, essay, recommendations, extracurriculars. Well the Honors classes would help. It can add 0.5 in your GPA. But yeah, once again, they don’t consider SAT if you’re an international student. And your class rank, is your school all that competitive?

Also, since one of your aunts attended, it may not be a big thing because legacy helps ALOT if your parents or your grandparents attend and graduate from the university. However, I hope you get in my friend! Your chances are likely at the moment in my opinion.

Even if you don’t, take it easy cause you can study anywhere if you don’t too, ahah. There isn’t any limit for knowledge.

@Aash11

I’m an international student too, so.

SAT isn’t required for international students, but I don’t know if that means they won’t consider it if you send it.

Not all international students study the american curriculum. So, yeah. Well, yes, I would say that it looks good to have a 2000+, but what I meant is, if there are two international students applying to Northeastern. Student A doesn’t submit SAT scores and student B does. Its not like they would choose student B directly and not student A because, at the end of the day, it isn’t required. Anyway, it doesn’t hurt sending in the SAT scores. All I know is that, its not considered as an essential part of the application for international students.

I believe that the OP is an American student of Asian descent, not an international applicant.
