Your school academics are great. Your ACT is fine. What are your subject test scores? “Published 5 research papers…” which journals did you publish your research in? Or did you win some competition? The journal in which you published your research matters a lot. There are lots of journals which usually publish crappy research, so publishing research in those type of journals isn’t worth anything. “Interned at web development company… appreciated by prof from stanford.” Do you have a letter of recommendation from the prof? If yes, that is great. If not, I don’t think it matters much just because you say that a prof appreciated your work(you need to have some proof). Your volunteer work seems impressive. With your scores and ECs, you have a good chance of getting into UCLA, UCSB, UCD. UPenn, Cornell, JHU, UCB would be reaches. Idk about other schools, so I can’t say anything about them.
The journals are internationally accredited journals one of paper was even accepted in a IEEE conference which is kind of a big thing. I cannot give away names of journals in the fear of giving my identity away but I assure you all of them are respected journals.
About the appreciation I directly did not get the recommendation but the company got a appreciation letter.
Hmm. Without looking at the journals, I can’t say anything about the research. Did you enter some competition? You have a good chance of getting into UCLA, UCSB, UCD. UPenn, Cornell, JHU, UCB would be reaches.
