I feel like everyone gets annoyed with these but i’m in a position where I just need more honest opinions…

Stats:

Female
UC GPA: 4.0
SAT: 1820
ACT: 26
Major: Cognitive Science
Personal Statements were about my synesthesia and my multicultural background
EC’s are decent!

I understand 200% that my scores are low and I don’t need to hear it BUT this is the first or second year that Davis is offering CogSci as a new major so I’m hoping that will give me somewhat of an advantage. Unless I’m wrong and Davis doesn’t even look at applied majors when deciding. My sister is a comp. sci major sophomore at Davis but I’m sure that does nothing for my chances… I’d really like to know if I have at least a 40% chance considering my major. Thanks.

Low Reach based on lower than average test scores however, having excellent essays and EC’s could bump up your chances to High Match to Match. Since it is a new major, you might have an advantage so Good Luck.

I actually have a friend who got into the psychology program at UC Davis and had a UC GPA of (about) 3.8 and a SAT score in the 1700s range. Of course I should mention this was back in 2013, but the standards should not have changed much since then. As long as your personal statements are solid, you should be good.
