Hello,
I am a male Junior and can you let me know if it is possible I could obtain a merit scholarship from GW? And this is my dream school and I will definitely apply ED, would that help me get in? Thanks!

H.S. soccer for three years and varsity for one year
FBLA Vice President for two consecutive years and member for one years
Innovation and Economics member for one year
DECA member for one year
Full Court Peace member for one year
Volunteer head soccer coach for 3 years for the same team. Around 140-160 hours of it.
Referee for boy’s basketball for two years.

Work Experience:
Worked in a soccer shop freshman year, was promoted to manager as well.
Worked in a Concession stand for freshman and sophomore year
Worked as a summer camp counselor for soccer for freshman and sophomore year summers
Currently working all year and summer long at a After School program and Summer Camp. Recently got promoted to head counselor.
Babysitter for three years

Rigor of Courses:
7 honor classes by end of Junior year. Also I am taking French IV Honors and 1 AP: APUSH.
Senior Course Load will be AP Environmental, AP Psychology, AP Gov Poll, English Honors and some other prerequisites.

Awards
National Honors Society (Most likely got the invitation)
National Business Honor Society
National Science Honor Society

Intended Major:
Political Science and then pursue a law degree after.

most likely a high match, slight reach. you certainly have a reasonable shot of getting accepted, particularly if you go ED, but i don’t know about getting a whole lot of merit aid. it would certainly do you well to give the SATs a crack, or retake the ACTs. if your scores improve, your chances of both admission and aid go up as well…particularly in the present test optional era, where only the better students are submitting their test scores

@Zoidberg93 Thank you for your input, but overall do you think I can get into GW if I apply ED, as they accept 70% of ED applicants?

you have a fair shot going ED, but if merit aid is something that you want to pursue, i would still recommend bumping up your test scores. since admissions is test optional now, you have literally nothing to lose whatsoever, but a lot to potentially gain (including cold hard scholarship cash) by giving the standardized tests another go.
