So I am a rising senior and UVA is my dream school. I am a Virginian in the Full IB program. I do live in NoVA so I don’t know whether that’s a plus or a minus… 29 ACT and 1340 new SAT. I have a 3.9 unweighted GPA and all my classes last year and this year are all IB… I did the Governor’s Summer Program at a local hospital and I’m also super involved with the community… Because of CAS… Key Club, NHS, and Spanish Honor Society… I’m also Hispanic, not that being Hispanic should help… Thanks guys! My rank is 24/414

I’d say your main weakness lies in your ACT/SAT score. If you don’t get a change to bring it up do not worry. Emphasize your background, grades and summer activities and you’ll do well at most schools.

Your current test scores aren’t better than instate students for UCLA. As an OOS student, your cost there is $55K per year. That school will be a reach. Michigan is a little more expensive. Can your parents afford all of these schools?
Yeah, it is a thought situation. I really want to go to a big school that’s renown and stuff. So I know it’s really expensive. That’s why I’m so into UVA.
