I attend one of the best public high schools in the state
In the middle of my junior year, I transferred from one of the top private schools in the country (top 15) to my local public school so I could take more APs senior year and be at a bigger school. For that reason, I had to take 3 introductory freshman courses that are required for graduation 2nd semester junior year (which my counselor will discuss in his letter of rec).
Senior year courseload: AP English Literature, AP Calc BC, AP Economics, AP Biology, AP Psychology, Human Physiology and Anatomy, Spanish at local college for credit, PE (I need to take it to graduate!)
Test Scores:
ACT: 35 (35 writing, 36 math, 34 english, 35 science)
New Sat: 1530 (790 math, 740 reading/writing)
SAT II’s: Math 2 800, Bio E 750, Spanish 730
AP’s: Calc AB 5, English literature 5, Spanish language 5
Extracurriculars:
Athletics:
4 year varsity letterman for soccer team- won 2 state titles, lost a 3rd (in which I was named player of the game), this past year I was all-league and all state, and would have been a team captain but I transferred.
3 year varsity letterman for baseball team- played for local public school even when I attended private school, and I ended up lettering my sophomore year and starting my junior year (could have been all-league, but I injured my elbow). I will be a team captain next year.
I am not planning to play varsity sports in college
Service- I volunteer with a local organization that helps with food insecurity by building gardens. Will have done upwards of 100 hours. I’ve been doing it since my sophomore year, this fall I will be a leader within the organization, leading my own team of people to build gardens (big honor, I don’t think anybody else under 18 has ever done this)
Work:
Caddy at a country club, been doing it since april 2016, 10 hrs a week
Employee at restaurant of different country club- just started this summer, 25 hrs a week, 10 hrs a week during school year, received praise from coworkers and management
Summer 2015, I worked at a local realty show, making sure the houses were kept safe and patrons were satisfied- 20 hrs a week
Academics:
Science research- won local, statewide, and company-sponsored awards (that have come with cash prizes!) for my projects in engineering and medicine my freshman and sophomore year. I plan to continue doing research my senior year in the field of psychology.

My essays will be solid, they won’t be life-changing, but they should be very good. My common app essay is about my service with the garden building organization, and it’s one of my favorite pieces of writing I’ve ever written.
As for teacher recs, since I transferred in the middle of my junior year, it’s been a little harder, but I have a couple teachers that I’ve really connected with and really like me, so I’m confident they will write good letters.
The schools that I’m looking at are Princeton (EA), UPenn, UvA (EA), Duke, USC, Georgetown, Amherst, Claremont McKenna, Washington University in St. Louis, Emory, Northwestern, University of Richmond, University of Oregon honors college (safety), and the University of Miami.
Note: My mom holds a degree from UvA, so I will have legacy status.
I would really appreciate it if anybody could chance me! I hope all other seniors going through this stressful time can still remember to relax and have fun, and good luck!
