Sac State: Super Safety
UCM/UCR: Safety
UCSC/UCI: Low Match
UCD/UCSB/UCSD: Match
UCLA/UCB: Match-High Match
You have an excellent chance at all the UC’s. If your essays are as good as your stats, you should expect many acceptances come Spring 2017.
Good Luck.
Thank you @Gumbymom! Are the UC’s are more stats-based then? Compared to other profiles on CC, my XC’s seem lacking… that’s why I was worried about the UC’s and such. UCB/UCLA are matches? Do I really have that high of a chance to get in? I assumed they were quite prestigious…
GPA and test scores are important but your EC’s are also very good. UCLA/UCB are more holistic than some of the other UC’s so your essays will have a definite impact on your admission chances. Both of these schools are tough admits but you look very qualified. You will never know unless you apply.
I’ve been looking at JHU quite a bit too (I’m hoping to become a Jay myself :P), and they tend to look at apps a bit more holistically than the UC system. That is to say that your chances are best if you have a well-varied application with both breadth and depth. While, top to bottom, your application is very solid and strong, the apparent lack of leadership roles in your various ECs might bite you a bit. Your stats are extremely strong, though, so that will certainly help you.
In short, you’re definitely qualified for JHU, but there’s nothing that really “pops out” aside from your stats (which are what make you qualified in the first place). As with any school, your essay will be a big deciding factor. Good luck with your apps!
@TheAsianIsGamin, so is my leadership in Math Club not very significant? Also, I do kind of have informal leadership in AcaDec, but I can’t really list that…
@OneRepublic Whoops, I completely missed that you were president of Math Club! My bad!
Bump. I apologize, I really need the advice
Bump bump bump. Once again, apologies
With a very good profile such as yours, acceptance at all UCs is likely. CSU is a sure match, and unfortunately, MIT is a reach for everyone (I would still apply though, because you never know what could happen). JHU is possible.
Good luck.
