Im a student from Florida wishing to go to the university of Minnesota. I plan to get a ba in economics at the school of liberal arts. My gpa is 3.44 uw/4.4w. My ACT is 31. I know my uw gpa is a bit low but i hope my ACT makes up for it. I participated in MUN for 4 years, have been in the swim team for 2 years,im part of NHS and key club (no officer positions though) and i have over 100 hours of community service. Im also hispanic and a first generation college student. What are my chances? Also should i submit my application now or wait until i have my september ACT scores?
You can submit the application and transcripts now and then have your best ACT score sent once you know that.
It would help to bring that ACT score up a bit but as it is 31 is above the 75th percentile of scores for CLA so you are in good shape there already. I think you have a very good chance, especially given your first generation status.
Good luck to you!
Thanks for the encouraging words! I think i will take your advice and the advice of others and complete my application now and send my best ACT score later.
