Up until very recently I kind of considered BU to be a safety, but I’ve since realized it’s much harder to get into than I thought. I’m just trying to gauge if I have a good chance.
Objective:
SAT I (breakdown): I don’t 100% remember it was over a year ago, like 2050 or something. I’m not submitting it, but I am taking the SAT in October.
ACT: 31 one sitting, 32 superscore (27M 29S 34R 36E, 23 writing (?)).
SAT II: not submitting
Unweighted GPA (out of 4.0): 3.7UW, 4.2 W
Rank (percentile if rank is unavailable): This is what I’m REALLY worried about. It’s like 40/300.
AP (place score in parenthesis): US History (4), Chemistry
IB (place score in parenthesis): Psychology (6), HL Literature, HL Biology, HL History, IB Calculus, IB Theory of Knowledge, IB Spanish IV
Senior Year Course Load: Honors Medicine, AP Chemistry, IB Calculus, IB History HL, IB Biology HL, IB Spanish IV, IB Literature HL, Theory of Knowledge
Major Awards (USAMO, Intel etc.): Scholastic Art and Writing (2 gold keys, 4 honorable mentions), NHRP
Subjective:
Extracurriculars (place leadership in parenthesis): Marching band four years (president last two years), orchestra four years (2nd chair viola freshman, junior, senior year, pit orchestra junior year), debate junior and senior year, science olympiad founding member and vice president, greenhouse club founder and president, AP chemistry student assistant
Job/Work Experience: none
Volunteer/Community service: The greenhouse club is actually a volunteering club, plus ~150 hours at a local hospital, ~150 hours search and rescue, ~100 at a food bank
Summer Activities: Bard College Young Writer’s Workshop - pretty selective, three week workshop.
Essays (rating 1-10, details): Not 100% done writing them, but I have spent a lot of time perfecting my writing skills and won several major national awards over the years, it used to be my intended major. They will probably be as good as I can make them. I decided to write about my very unique relationship with my father, who is an unemployed insane nomad that is against healthcare, democracy, and logic.
Recommendations (rating 1-10, details): Asking my TOK teacher and my AP chemistry teacher. They both know me very well and love me.
