Im planning to apply for

  • UCLA & Berkeley
  • Carnegie
  • BU (maybe early decision)
  • GA Tech
  • UIUC engineering
  • U of Michigan
  • NYU
  • UT Austin

I know Carnegie and Berkeley are super reach for me haha. Would it be a good idea to apply for early decision for BU?

And should I apply for engineering or should I go undecided / less competitive majors?

All of the schools you listed are reaches except maybe NYU. What is your budget? You won’t get any merit from those schools.

If you want to be an engineer, apply to engineering. Most of the schools listed have very difficult transfer programs to go from say business to engineering.

All of the schools you’ve listed are reaches except maybe NYU. You should try to broaden your list a little bit. If you get into any of the listed schools, you probably won’t get any merit aid. All the listed schools are 45k/year+. I recommend A&M as a good fit and if you get a 1000$+ scholarship, they’ll give you in state tuition. Also

Get the ACT up to a 33 and you’ll have a much better chance. UT specifically is very choosy on OOS students.

BTW, if you go to school and live in Colorado, you can’t be an international student

Well I meant foreign student from another country. Thats what people call us. Im staying in the U.S with a F-1 student Visa. What schools would be my match schools if I am applying for engineering? And do engineering schools look at R and W scores on ACT as much as Math scores? Thanks

Oh plus tuition is not my concern right now.

Do you qualify for Colorado in-state? If you do you are a US applicant.

The most important thing to a college is the composite score. Of course for an engineer math is the most important then probably English or reading. Science isnt even science, just reading comprehension of data.

A&M is good. Colorado School of Mines. Before I can answer more, how much can you spend a year and do you qualify for financial aid?

My budget tolerates about 50k a year for the tuition.

Cal poly is a great school for you. UCSD,university of Maryland, Auburn, UCD

Would early decision on my reach schools boost my chance?
