Chance me!

Hey guys. So I’m basically putting Northeastern University as my top choice and I’m applying regular decision. Here are my expected senior year stats:
Major: American Sign Language Interpreting
SAT: 1420
GPA (weighted): 4.33
GPA (unweighted): 4.0
Race: Black
Classes: Our high school doesn’t offer AP’s until Junior Year, but my freshman and sophomore years I took all honors classes possible. Here’s my junior year schedule:

American Sign Language 3 Honors (No AP offered)
Trig/Pre-Cal Honors
AP US History
English 11
Chemistry Honors
Varsity Track

Senior Year schedule:
American Sign Language 4 Honors (AP not offered)
English 12
AP Calculus AB
AP Government
Economics
Earth Science

Extra Curriculars & Achievements:
3 years of Variety Track & Field
Astronomy Club
Won the Track & Field annual coaches award 2 years in a row
ASL Club Treasurer
ASL Club member all 4 years
Christian Club member all 4 years
In charge and a part of the annual ASL variety show
I’ve had two jobs
50+ volunteer hours

Does my ethnicity and major help at all this? And if you don’t think I can get in, what are some actions I can take to ensure I do? Any answers are appreciated. 4.33

Also, I know that my schesule isn’t quite as rigorous, but i had a nice GPA boost (3.8 to 4.3) senior year. Plus my SAT scores i assume are nice. Any answers are appreciated. Thanks!

Is your SAT score from the new or old SAT?

New

@Avancer it’s the new one

Low match.

I applied as a Physical Therapy major, which is very different from an American Sign Language Interpreting major but I’ll try my best.

  • Your SAT score is pretty strong if it’s out of 1600. I got a 1330 (lol) and I got in.
  • Your GPA is strong and I know that colleges love to see calculus! Just keep up your senior year grades. I don’t know if it helps, but my college counselor told me to send in my AP scores if they were good. So if you got a 4 or a 5 on APUSH, that could definitely be used to your advantage.
  • Wow, you have awesome extracurriculars!
  • To answer one of your questions, I think that your ethnicity could help you out. I’m biracial I considered myself to be a relatively average applicant and was afraid that I wouldn’t get in. But I think that my ethnicity (chinese/caucasian) really helped.
  • Overall, I think that you have a great shot! Your resume looks a lot better than mine did haha.

Best of luck!!

I think it looks hopeful
