I have about the same stats as you… I’m so worried about my sat score for clemson because they mainly look at stats. Here are mine, but I’d say you have a pretty good chance.
4.1 (weighted) 3.7 (unweighted)
1160 SAT
I have lots of extra curriculars and I want to major in history or english
-FYI: The sciences at clemson are very hard to get into… but like I said you still have a good chance
Since we have very similar stats, my admissions councilor says I have about a 70-75% chance (shes an expert in this kind of thing). Clemson is defiantly the hardest, but I think you have a good shot. I know major plays into their decision and where you live in South Carolina (stupid I know).
@girl1998 What is your source for where you live in SC affects Clemson admissions? Major is definitely a consideration, but nowhere have I seen or read location plays a role. ECs have the least consideration . Admission is based most heavily on GPA , test scores, rank and rigor of high school program. To get an accurate idea of how your application compares to accepted students from last year, you may want to look at the common data set. Clemson received over 21,000 applications last year , and accepted approx half of those students.
Anyone been denied to Clemson yet? I know they say students that don’t have high scores will find out Feb 15th. I know a lot of Palmetto Scholars have already been admitted. But was curious if anyone has been denied and if so what were your stats? The suspense of finding out is stressing our house out.
I don’t think clemson denies/defers until they release the majority of decisions; you only hear early if you get a scholarship. I think you have a solid shot there. I heard back early with basically the same weighted gpa and an act 7 points higher OOS, if that helps. It is easier to get in in state. I think you’re more likely than not to get in. Good luck!
