I am a senior at a public school in NY. My GPA is pretty low due to my freshman and sophomore year grades… I applied to all of my schools EA and I want to know what you guys think…
GPA : 3.1 UW
1 AP and about 6 Dual Enrollment Courses
handful of honors
SAT 1160 - 580 math & 580 CR
taking another one in December
EC’s include law internship, 2 different summer jobs, 2 jobs during the school year, & comm. service
Strong essays
Applying for financial aid
I applied to SUNY Oneonta, SUNY Geneseo, Fairfield, Ithaca, Iona, Quinnipiac, Siena, Pace, and Marist.
I know Marist and Geneseo are definitely a reach for me, but it’s worth a shot!
The GPA definitely hurts while the SAT is also a bit low.
However, those jobs and internship plus your essay should really help.
The AP and Dual Enrollment are a bit lacking in all honesty. However, you should be able to scrape in at those schools.
Do you have Naviance for your school? With the stats in my school, you will most likely get:
-deferred from Oneonta
-might get into Geneseo
-might get into Fairfield (scattergram is all over the place)
-get into Ithica
-get into Iona
-get into Quinn.
-might get into Siena
-might get into Marist
-get into pace NYC and Westchester.
Keep in mind this is based off the scattergram in my school. Please don’t rely on what I said…
Hello guys! How’s everyone coping with the stress
I’ve applied to 9/20 already. A few of them are EA and the rest RD.
I am an international student, so what do you think are my chances of getting into any of the top 50 colleges (US News)?? Especially USC, UIUC, UCLA, Berkeley, NYU etc?
Major- Economics (I know. Very competitive)
ACT - 32
SAT - 1480
SAT II- Sucks. Math 1 (690), Literature (620), World History on this Saturday.
GPA - I’m from India. 9.8 CGPA in 9th and 10th. Roughly 85% in 11th and the same in 12th midsems.
Extracurriculars - State level soccer player, school and state team captain, basketball school team captain, lots of community service, and other stuff too (tired typing so much)
Essays - I feel I’m a decent writer. Not too great and not too shabby.
Any help is appreciated
P.S - The essays wil be the death of me xD They’re taking so much time!!
