Chance Me?

Hi, I did this before when my credits were horribly messed up. And now researching your 9th grade grades do not count? So right now with my 10th and first semester 11th grade grades put together I have about a 3.44 weighted and unweighted GPA? I have a 990 SAT score but I just took it again yesterday and it should be a lot better. I am interested in majoring in Animal Health Science or Animal Science with a pre-med emphasis. Oh and I am currently a Junior, in state about 45 minutes away so out the local service area.

Is your 3.44 GPA, your CSU GPA? http://www.csumentor.edu/planning/high_school/gpa_calculator.asp

Cal Poly Pomona admits by Eligibility index and major. Local in-service area applicants get priority.

If your CSU GPA is 3.44 and your SAT score is 990, the your EI= (3.44 x800) + (990)= 3742.

Since Animal Science or Animal Health Science are impacted majors, you want an minimum Eligibility index of 3800 or higher just to be considered. The EI threshold each year will fluctuate based on the stats for each in-coming class.

You need to aim for at least an 1100+ SAT to be competitive.

Good Luck and make sure you have some solid Match and Safety schools on your list.

I don’t think local area matters for impacted majors. Regardless I think you will need to raise your sats since I think it’s too late to raise your gpa. Good luck!

Ok so you’re a junior. Work hard to get those grade up. Take summer school if you need to.
