Chance Me

So I’ve already applied to colleges and heard back two “decisions,” sort of–deferred from Yale and not considered for USC’s merit scholarships.

Does anyone mind giving me honest (please) feedback for my chances at Fullerton Nursing, UCSB, UCSD, UC Davis, UC Irvine, UCLA, UC Berkeley, Penn Nursing, Harvard, Princeton, Stanford, and Columbia, as well as my chances of Yale/USC during the regular round?

I applied as a biology major everywhere else.

Also my chances at Regents for any of the UC’s?

I’m sorry if this irks anyone because I’m asking after I already applied, but I’m just a nervous high school senior who sucks at waiting.

You have some nice extracurriculars. Your SAT is slightly on the lower end for some of those schools, though (but you already knew that). Not much else I can comment on other than arbitrarily shouting REJECT or ACCEPT or DEFER.

You shouldn’t be so keen to seek the opinions of anonymous internet users who have only scratched the surface of who you are, and will actually probably be harsher than the AdComms in “chancing” you.

Great chances everwhere. Don’t let the yale deferral get you down-you will end up somewhere great.

@bubblepop12444 Thanks for the reassurance; that was super nice of you!

I think you have a good chance getting to into USC, don’t be discouraged by the fact that they didn’t choose you for a scholarship. They are really picky about stuff like that. Not super sure about Yale, but nevertheless, you still have a good chance I’m not an admissions director so I can’t say anything for sure but, have faith.

UCLA; accept
UC Davis: accept
UCI: accept
UC: accept
Princeton: might accept but not 100 percent sure
Harvard: waitlist
Stanford: essays is what really determines it… reject
Columbia: accept

Could you please chance me back that would be awesome!

@adrinitis Why do you think Columbia would accept me? And thanks for the reassurance about USC

No problem, you do well in a competitive atmosphere and you are someone that kinda stands out in the applications process, I think Columbia would like that.

I was deferred from Yale too! Hang in there! Lol I’ve been published in TeenInk but didn’t think the colleges would care so I didn’t even list it…whoops. Do you only participate in all those clubs you listed or do you have positions?

@yalehopeful017 only participate sadly, LOL. I have outside leadership stuff only. Best of luck to you too, I hope you get in RD round. It seems like your #1 school.

Haha it definitely is  I ended up getting a Presidential scholarship from USC so that was nice though! Best of luck to you as well

Fullerton Nursing - accept
UCSB - accept
UCSD - accept
UC Davis - accept
UC Irvine - accept
UCLA - accept
UC Berkeley - accept
Penn Nursing - defer
Harvard - reject
Princeton - reject
Stanford - reject
Columbia - defer / then perhaps accept

@peterin1 Thanks for your feedback. Chances for Yale and USC during regular round, if you don’t mind? Deferred from Yale EA and didn’t receive any merit scholarships from SC.

bump

Hello! Don’t worry about your deferral from Yale and not getting the merit at USC; the EA Pool is one of the most competitive nationwide for these 2 universities. You have the scores and the ECs for all of these universities. If you have the essays as well, all you’ll need is the patience for the acceptances!

You have a shot at all the UCs and USC. Also, looking at the pool of accepted students at Yale, Penn and Columbia through EA, I’d say you have a really good shot as well through RD.

I’m a little worried about Harvard, Princeton, and Stanford. All 3 are becoming increasingly demanding. I think when it comes to these 3, you need perfect or near-perfect essays, so hope for the best and be patient. You have a solid chance at all your choices, just hope they like your essays!

You guys have been right so far–just down to the Ivies and Stanford now…really nervous!
