I am a prospective Junior looking into UMich.
Grades: My school doesn’t give out a gpa, but I used online calculators and my weighted is over a 4.0 while my unweighted is pretty sub par imo (3.4-3.6).
I am an IB student, my grades are typically 5/6 ish a few 7s here and there. However, I recieved a 4 in art
SAT: I am naturally very proficient at mathematics, not so much in english so i recieved a 1470. I plan to take my SAT2s in bio and math level 2 and am anticipating above a 750 in each, with potential for an 800 in math.
EC: Helping hands (club at my school that helps people, hard to explain)
I am a project manager at the only highschool student run non profit in the country
Membership VP of math club
Volunteer at senior center every thanksgiving, local park every earth day.
Helped to organize my school’s day of silence.
I will also be volunteering at a hospital sometime soon a couple of times a week.
Knowing this, what are my chances providing I keep my grades how they are and attempting to break a 1500 on my next SAT?
Raise that gpa to at least a 3.8 to be competitive and sat to at least a 1500
I was admitted with a 33 ACT and a 1500 SAT. I am at the top of my class with an unweighted GPA of 4.0. I’m out of state and so far have not received any scholarship awards and was deferred from LSA honors. My suggestion to you is to focus on raising your GPA. I also encourage you to apply to several colleges and make sure you factor in cost. I got in to UMich but I may not be able to afford it. Hope this helps.
