Chance me?

I am currently an in-state junior and I was wondering how my application would fare. I plan on majoring in Public Health.

Gender: Male
Race: White/Asian

Unweighted GPA: 4.0
Weighted GPA: 4.98 (my school has a very inflated GPA: 5.0 for honors, 6.0 for AP/DE)
Class rank: 7/995

ACT: 31 (35E/26M/34R/30S/10W) I’ll be retaking it again to try to get the math and science scores up.
I just took the SAT for the first time this month, so I don’t have my scores yet.

I like your chances, Redshirt!

Looks like you are on track @Shirtisred

You should re-compute your GPA using UF’s weighting method, that will give you the proper comparison with the incoming Freshman profile UF publishes.

The following is from the UF website:

^ agree with @CaucAsianDad

But assuming your unweighted is a 4/4, you have a very very high shot at UF. Also, your ACT puts you at the top 75%.

Nothing to worry about in my opinion.
I’d consider it as a low match (means easy match) or even a safety.

I would disagree a bit calling it a “safety,” Aiming. I have seen people with higher stats get denied. I think his chances are quite good, but no way would I count on UF as a safety.

True, UF’s admissions are tricky… But he has nearly as good of a shot as anyone

Your chances look really good.
