So schools that I’m wondering about are: Rice, Emory, Vanderbilt, Georgetown, USC, UCLA, Brown, Northwestern, WASHU, UC San Diego, Tufts, Johns Hopkins, Berkeley, Case Western, Boston University, Boston College, Tulane

Also, if you guys have any insight on money I could get at any of these schools, please share! In particular, I’m interested in potential National Merit money (ex: Presidential Scholarship at USC).

Let me know what you guys think and/or what I can improve on! Thank you so much, and good luck to all of you.

There are schools that are more stats oriented that really like taking in lots of NMFs! Minus HYP, go look for the schools with super high SAT ranges vs. peers and you may have a shot with them if you get NMF. Overall, I do not want to completely advise on this because it is quite random. I would say for the less stats oriented schools, your ECs could stand out more.

I forgot to add that I have been Class VP every year of high school as well. Thank you so much for your input!

If you are in need of merit aid and/or need-based financial aid, I would cross UCLA and UC San Diego off your list. As an out of state applicant, the California UC’s give little to no aid so expect to pay $60K/year to attend.

Thank you, that’s very helpful!

TO ALL, I FORGOT TO ADD THAT I HAVE BEEN CLASS VP 9-11 AND HAVE TAKEN 5 COLLEGE COURSES AT A LOCAL UNIVERSITY ALL OF WHICH I HAVE EARNED AN “A” IN*********

You seem to be a really great candidate! Really involved in the community and in school. Your academics are great, especially your test scores. I think you would have a good shot in all of them, except John’s Hopkins and Brown. Because you never know how their decisions might be. Even people who score 1600, get rejected at Brown and JHU, but you are still a really competitive applicant for them! Just do your best till the end! And hope for the best! Your chances also depend on the major that you want to take. Some universities are more competitive in certain areas like engineering and medical! Hope you would be able to finalize that.

hey! i think you have great chance at all of these schools! just make sure to find out your intended major because that’s extremely important! when you do find your major try to center you ec’s around that because they don’t seem to have a clear focus. but this is just advice, i can’t put my finger on your chances for sure!
