Hi everyone,

Currently doing a summer internship at an Engineering firm.
Worked at a computer repair shop 2yrs

Thanks so much! I really appreciate your thoughts.

Monkey you do need to raise the test scores, but I think you’d be good with a 29+. First gen status will help you. I like your strong ECs and work experience, and congrats on the stellar grades! Right now I’d focus on bringing up the test scores a bit and writing a memorable essay. Try to have your application in no later than the end of September. Don’t sweat it if you don’t make 31 ACT, I think you’ve got a good shot if you get it into the high twenties.

Good luck!

@Trisherella Thank you! Why is it important that I have my application in no later than September?

You have a great shot, besides your ACT! >:D<

How many AP/IB/DE/AICE classes have you taken and what’s your Senior course work like?

Course rigor is a big factor in admissions.

@Monkey288195 I will respectfully disagree with @Trisherella on this one. The Coalition App had two parts, the generic Coalition part, which you should submit early as it must be completed before you can move on to the second part with the UF supplemental questions and the essay. I think you should take your time on the UF supplemental section.

Waiting until late-October to submit allowed my D to add a leadership position and a couple of small awards from school (In the “what else do you want to add” area). Additionally, her essay was a narrative from an event in summer but she had a better perspective on the impact of that event in October than she did in early September.

YMMV

@sushipanda By the time of my senior year, I would have taken 13 AP classes (counting the ones on my senior year schedule). I am taking 6 APs and 1 honors course my senior year.

@CaucAsianDad Ok thank you for the advice!
