Are you a California Resident? Is your weighted GPA your CSU/UC GPA? https://rogerhub.com/gpa-calculator-uc/
Assuming CS/SE as major?? Are you local to any of the Cal states listed?
I’m a California residents. My weighted CSU and UC gpa is 3.71 and my major I want to consider is mechanical or electrical engineer or business or architecture.
Just saw your other chances post and you stated you have a 3.71 UC/CSU GPA. You are thinking of Architecture or CS. You also have not changed your original list where posters stated that the majority of the schools on your list are Reaches.
UC Merced should be added as a safety. What is your local CSU? If your local CSU is not the schools listed above, I would consider that school a safety also.
SJSU is a Reach (last year needed a 4500 Eligibility index for admission into CS). You might want to consider Software Engineering instead which has a lower EI threshold: 3900. ME/Business/EE would all be possible at SJSU.
Your Eligibility index is (3.71 x 800) + (1140)= 4108
CSU Long Beach, Fullerton, Cal Poly Pomona and possibly San Diego State are Match-High Match schools.
Cal Poly SLO is a Reach with a less than 10% acceptance rate and ME is around 13%, average GPA of 4.16 and average SAT of 1467 for the College of Engineering.
UCSD: Reach
UCSB/UCI/UCD: Reach
UCSC: High Match-Low Reach
UCR: Match-High Match
UW: High Reach
UT Austin: High Reach
Again, your list is very Reach heavy so drop several of the OOS schools on your list and a few UC’s. Add a couple of the Cal states. You will get an excellent education at any of the Cal States listed.
Hey @Gumbymom well I got waitlisted to UC Davis and I need help writing my essay. Do you know anyone or a good example that I can use? Also about how many people got out the waitlist last year?
