Chance me ?

Middle Eastern Muslim Male from STL applying ED
30 act superscore (highest comp of 29) aiming for 31/32 superscore by the oct act.
3.78 unweighted gpa
I have a total of 8 ap/ib classes throughout high school.

My extracurricular include:
Varsity Tennis - not recruitable, just a hobby
French Club
Volunteer at library- will have around 260 hrs by nov 1st

Photography - hobby but I also do paid photoshoots which I mentioned in my app. I am also submitting a portfolio of my photography and digital art as I want to minor in art.

Self Employment (I run my own business) - I work with clients as a graphic designer, visual effects artist, and scriptwriter for youtube videos. I expand upon this in my essay since this has been a huge part of my high school life. I don’t have my own company, I sort of freelance. but it is my plan to establish one in the future.

Marketing - I sell visual effects and photography presets on my online store.

Designing graphic tees - One of my goals is to create my own clothing brand so I have been designing possible t-shirts or the past couple of months and will post a few of these on my portfolio

Custom PC - I bought all the parts for a computer and built it myself to create my own powerful editing pc.

Hackathon member - I have participated in a hackathon where our team developed a website. We didn’t win but I thought I should add it on as good computer science experience.

What I wrote my essay on is my passion for youtube and how it’s allowed me to run my own business ( I actually quit my part time job once it started taking off and I mention that as well) and how I’m now wanting to expand upon my skills and brand by studying business at Washington University.

As I mentioned to you, you’re a better fit for Sam Fox. Likely a low reach if you apply there since your ECs are closer to what they are looking for.

Good luck for the next 4 years. You will be stimulated and challenged by the course offerings. That’s a good thing since you put in a lot of work to earn admission.

As Chancellor Wrighton told the entering class of 2021, Admissions did not make a mistake. You are a part of a special group. Do your best and make the most out of WashU.

@Hamurtle Thank you so much! I will not let my hard work from the past 4 years go to waste. I will be putting in nothing but my best!
