I would say that my essays are very good and I know one of my two recommendations is great, but I am worried that the second one might be kind of generic. I have not read them.

As of now, I think my test scores are weighing down my admission chances, so I am hoping my extracurriculars, essays, and interview will allow me to compete with other applicants.

Please be honest about my admission chances to all schools on my list.

Thanks!

Also, I forgot to include this, but I am a semi-finalist for the NSLI-Y study abroad scholarship funded by the State Department for this summer. I don’t find out if I am a finalist until around March though. The program fits on with my intended major.

Tufts - very unlikely
W&M - possibly
UVA - very unlikely out of state

You have a good shot at W&M, idk about UVA, but I live near Tufts and I know a lot of people who either applied there and got in or got denied and what is prevalent is that Tufts really cares about your test scores. Some people I know with high 1400’s scores or even 1500 got denied. I would think about applying to UNC-Chapel hill just in case, where you would also have a solid shot and you’re in state, and it’s an extremely respected school. Do you have any other schools on your list? Also for international relations, you should think about adding George Washington University to your list as a fit school. They are amazing for political science and international relations. And also, if you haven’t already, visit Tufts and the other colleges. I have nothing against the school but I live near there and have been there many times, and as far as I know, W&M and UVA have MUCH nicer campuses then Tufts.

@Keriell Thanks for the input! I actually have already applied to UNC-Chapel Hill and am planning to submit my application to George Washington either tomorrow or Thursday. Mostly, I was just curious about those three schools because I didn’t have any idea of where I stood in admissions.

bump

Can you give us the breakdown of your testing scores?

SAT score is 710 on math, 700 on reading/writing. I didn’t end up sending my ACT score to any of these schools.

I actually think you have a good shot at all three. As long as essays are kick A, I don’t see any real issue. Good job not sending that ACT.
