CHANCE ME :)

HI! I am a current junior and am trying to decide whether or not to apply to Dartmouth ED or if I should use my ED on a less competitive school, I would appreciate advice and feedback!

ACT: 30
(only taken once so let’s assume it improves a point or two)

W GPA: 4.0
UW GPA: 3.79
(But a very steep upward trend: Junior year sem 1 was 4.3 and 3.95)

APs: (14 total by graduation)
9th: Govt (5)
10th: Comp govt (5), Psych (4), Euro (3),
11th: Micro, Macro, US history, English lit, English lang, Human geo
12th: Environmental science, World lit, World history, Comp sci

ECs:
Newspaper: Editor-in-chief, several articles published on news sites, a few awards
Speech/debate: Captain, a few awards at national tournaments but nothing outstanding, letter
Model UN: Capitan, several awards, letter with high distinction
Dance: 5 time national qualifier, teacher at my studio

Other:
Over 160 volunteer hours at domestic violence shelter
Probably (hopefully) will get AP national scholar
Summer internship with state senator (1 yr)
Summer debate and journalism camps

Hook:
I am a legacy and my older sibling currently attends

I realize my grades and ACT are not ideal (although I do have one more semester to get them up) but do I have a chance?

Retake ACT and shoot for at least 33-34. Both your weighted and unweighted GPA are in lower end.

How much can you pay per year? Can you afford 60K+ per year?

GPA is just too low to supplement alone.
Try and get around a 34 on the ACT and you would have a slim chance at Dartmouth…
