ECU
WCU
Elon
High Point
(if this looks familiar, it’s bc i posted the same thing for UNC)
My guess is you would have some work to get into either NCSU, UNC, Duke (maybe a couple of others). If you get you ACT goal, chances would be better. At NCSU, you apply directly to the college, so it would depend also on the college you apply to, i.e. College of Engineering is much harder to get into than maybe Humanities and Social Services.
Good Luck
@sanaaged2525 what’s your intended major? Whatever your major you definitely need to pull up your ACT for UNC/Duke/NCSU/W&M. Might be able to save a little money as you probably don’t need to apply to WCU, ECU and High Point. If it was me I’d pick my favorite (or top 2) of the 3 as a safety. But if OOS W&M at a cost of attendance for 18-19 at 60K+ per year is on your list, dropping small amounts on application fees is probably not a concern of yours. FYI, as W&M is a Virginia state school and is popular with OOS applicants willing to full-pay, don’t plan on much merit money.
You’re going to need to retake the ACT. If you can get it to a 30, then you have a decent shot at most of these schools. Duke is going to be a major reach either way. UNC is a reach. UNCC is a match, and NCSU is a match, arguably a safety.
