Finance major
Finance is one of THE hardest majors at Penn State into which to get accepted. I’m concerned with how heavily your school weights if your UW GPA is a 3.55 but your weighted is a 5.18. That’s a big jump. What subjects were your C’s in? How many honors classes did you take? Your SAT is also low for finance. I would not apply directly to finance. I’d apply DUS as your best shot. Smeal only accepts 10-11% of it’s direct applicants and finance is one of the hardest majors within Smeal. You can get into Smeal by starting DUS and taking all of the entry to major classes that those “in” the major will take. You won’t be behind at all.
Agreed. DUS and you may want to indicate your willingness to start in the summer session, especially if you are heck bent on University Park.
Apply DUS.
MAKE SURE you’ve taken precalculus honors or calculus before you start in finance.
