Hi, pitt is one of my top choices, but i think my chances are slim. I come from a very competitive high school in nj, last year about 45 students were accepted to pitt out of the 78 that applied. My stats:
3.69 UW/5.76 W (on a seven point scale)
Class Rank: top 30% (don’t know if i’m including this or not)
Best SAT: 1230 (all of my best sub scores were in one test)
A ton of extracurriculars as well as a few national honors that relate to my intended major of political science.
also do OOS get good financial aid? I have a low-income single parent household.
Hi! Pitt Admissions Staffer here,
You may find our class profile helpful: https://oafa.pitt.edu/explore/class-profile/
Also, important to note: We are a test-friendly institution. We will superscore your SAT scores and take the best possible score we can for you. If you have taken the ACT, we will take your highest ACT composite.
In terms of financial aid, we do offer financial aid packages regardless of in-state or OOS. We encourage you to fill out your FAFSA as soon as you get a moment (it’s available October 1st on fafsa.ed.gov). You can learn more about the types of aid that are available at Pitt here: https://oafa.pitt.edu/financialaid/
Best,
A Pitt Admissions Staffer
