I’m a junior at a competitive public high school in CT. I plan on applying to the SFS with a major in International Politics, and I’m looking to minor in Persian. I love the Georgetown campus as well as the opportunities in the D.C. area, but I’m worried about my lack of connections.

I’m not sure if this matters much, but I can speak six languages, four fluently.
Spanish (1st language), English, German and Persian (Iran). I’m studying Arabic and Hebrew.
If you’re applying to the SFS, your languages will matter a lot. They seem to really value language ability, so I would say that’s your strongest point and something that you should absolutely talk about in your essays. Will you be able to take subject tests?
I think you have a very strong chance. I am currently a student here and many of my friends did not take three subject tests. Plus Georgetown is very forgiving to students that cannot afford to take the tests.
I know you said you can’t afford to retake the SAT… but improving from 1490 can only help. It’s a really good score, but lots and lots of kids have really good scores even above that. Check with your guidance counselor about help with a waiver if you haven’t already.
If you don’t get it, then I don’t know who does. Your record is absolutely wonderful. Good luck on your apps I’m also applying and I wish I had your acumen
