Oh and I did an intership over the summer

UCSD is gonna look at your UW gpa, so what’s that

also you need a higher SAT, 1480 is average for UCSD but for CS it really should be north of 1500

3.93 UW, Do you think I have a good chance?

Can’t tell if you’re being sarcastic or not.

Bro ez money. Don’t even come here. I’m a junior at UCSD in CSE. I had 4.0 UW and 1510, never built a website or app. You’re golden, go to cmu or cal. gg rip. Finals week rn

The only thing I had going for me was that I had 110 units coming in, and had a GitHub full of 10s of thousands of lines of code. you’re chillin dw about it

Im being serious because I got waitlisted by davis, but thanks for the information and positivity!

@ThunderStrik7 Wait what? Really? Thats a surprise really, your credentials are so much better than UC Davis’s average scores. Your scores are nearly the same as mine, with the exception that I took the ACT instead and your ECs are basically as good as mine, except mine was medical oriented. Same stuff, internships, founded a business (more like AP tutoring platform at multiple schools), various electives(sports for you, and music for me) and a national award. I was accepted to Davis under Marine and Coastal Science (I SWEAR I clicked biology).

But, in retrospect, you should have a higher chance of getting into UCSD than not. If not, then I believe it must be that your essays raised some red flags because your ECs should get you in all the UCs theoretically. Also, I do want to point out that Davis has a 41% First-Gen ratio(~20% at UCLA/UCB) in their campus, which might be a reason why you got waitlisted. But hey! Don’t get so worked up about it, you’ll get in somewhere you love!

Remember, you aren’t defined by your academics, dont let that be the purpose.

Thanks for the insight, and regarding the waitlist some of my friends told me about a concept called yield protection, but anyways I really appreciate the effort in helping me out

Got waitlisted, rip this week, got undeclared ucsb, rejected slo, and now waitlisted ucsd

SAME, and my stats are almost if not as good as yours… ;-;

UCSD was my first choice, buts its way to competitive for comp sci, i think im going to end up going to ucr
