chance me

Hi! I am a high school freshman (I know that’s pretty young to be on CC, please don’t comment about it), and I’ve wanted to go to a really good college ever since I was 11. Are my ECs and grades good enough? I understand how slim the chances of acceptance are; I’m simply curious as to whether or not my current academic involvements give me a chance.

Club Involvement:
Debate: Very involved in varsity parliamentary debate. My school is ranked 3rd in the nation, and my partner and I have won a variety of tournaments. I earned a scholarship to a parliamentary debate camp this summer at Cal, and I’ll be applying to be a writer for the National Parliamentary Debate League in the fall.
Leadership: Currently events planner. I’ve been selected as a leadership member, which means that I will move up the debate leadership hierarchy as the years go on. I’ll be president junior and senior year.

Technovation: I have an app on the app store that works to prevent vehicular heatstroke. Still waiting for results from the actual competition.

Science Fairs: I won my regional science fair this year. My project focused on depolymerization of polyethylene terephthalate. Colleges like to see kids with solutions to real-world issues, so that’s good I guess. I attended the California State Science Fair as well. This is going to be my spike in years to come, and I plan on attending intel.

Choir: This is relatively minor, but I was selected for an audition only choir at my school this year, as well as being part of the state honors choir.

Classes: I have a 4.0. No honors or AP classes are offered for freshman, so the hardest class I’m taking is “honors” geometry, even though there isn’t any honors credit. :frowning:
Next year I’m taking AP music theory, ap bio, and precalc honors.

Finally, I am a white female. I am also a bilingual immigrant, which could help in terms of admissions.

I understand that there are plenty of great colleges out there, and I understand that a fancy name doesn’t necessarily connote better education. However, ivies have fantastic programs for my intended major, so a prestigious college is definitely the goal. With that said, chance me.

Having a 4.0 unweighted is very good. Try to take as many AP classes as you can handle as prestigious colleges really like that. Overall, keep doing what you are doing! best of luck to you!
