Hi my son is a junior and is interested in direct med schools and want to know his chances for Drexel, Penn state, case western, RPI, U of Rochester, Rutgers, u of Albany etc.
Weighted GPa- 4.507
Unweighted- school doesn’t calculate. But if he did it right, 3.9 until last year, but taking 5 AP’s and dropped so far to ~ 3.8
EC’s-
Debate - made it to nationals two years with policy debate
Cross country- state level competitor two years in a row
SAT- 1560
Subject SAT- biology- 780
Math- 740, planning to retake
150 hospital volunteer hours
No shadowing yet, but can do it this summer.
Got a lab internship this summer at cancer research lab
Many other debate camp volunteering, camp etc
I really think you best bet is jump in the forums for each school listed and see what stats kids have in the past that got in.
I am new to this forum and this is vast trying to navigate the information.
If he gets 5’s on math and science AP’s, especially as a junior, he seems to be a shoo-in for most of these schools. They want to see 5’s along with high ACT/SAT.
Thank you!
